Based on current league standings (yes, I know, very early in the season) and the system of using 3 teams per league and 1 wild-card for a 16-team playoff, the playoff teams would be, with their league records in parentheses:

L&C: Rainier (3-0), Vernonia (3-0), Clatskanie (1-2) West Valley: Amity (5-0), Willamina (5-0), Dayton or Colton (3-2) PacWest: Regis (5-0), Santiam Christian (5-0), Toledo or Jefferson (3-2) Sunset: Gold Beach (5-0), Cascade Christian (4-1), Myrtle Point (4-1) E. Oregon: Grant Union (3-0), Umatilla (3-0), Vale (1-2)

The wildcard, the best fourth place team, would be whichever of Dayton and Colton was not in third place.

3A Playoff according to current records

We start by placing the 5 league leaders in the first 5 spots in the bracket. They will go in point order into pools ABCDD.

Pool A: Rainier
Pool B: Grant Union
Pool C: Amity
Pool D: Gold Beach, Regis/Santiam Christian

Now to put in the 5 league 2nd-place teams opposite the league champions. Since Pools A and D will be on the top half-bracket, and pools B and C on the bottom half-bracket, I’ll separate based on that. Each team will be placed in the first spot they can possibly be placed in pools CBAAB

Pool A: Rainier, Umatilla, Willamina
Pool B: GU, SC/Regis, Vernonia
Pool C: Amity, Myrtle Point
Pool D: GB, Regis/SC

Now the third place teams go into the bracket. They should not be put in a pool with any other team from the same league. Once Dayton is placed, we'll know where Colton will go. We will check for spots in this order: CDDCB.

Pool A: Rainier, Umatilla, Willamina, Cascade Christian
Pool B: GU, Sc/Regis, Vernonia, Colton
Pool C: Amity, MP, Clatskanie, Toledo
Pool D: GB, Regis/SC, Dayton, Vale

CC was put in pool A so that we had a place to put Colton.
